We are an independent charity and a member of Relationships Scotland, an organisation based in Edinburgh which is made up of 21 local services, like us, as its members.

We:

• face all the normal overheads of any business
• invest in resources, toys, equipment to improve families’ experiences
• continuously invest in training and expanding our practitioner-base and workforce to maintain the highest of practice standards

The word “charity” sometimes causes confusion. It doesn’t mean that we can offer a free service; rather that we are a non-profit organisation which returns all its income into the services that we provide. It also means that while we charge for some of our services, we offer flexible concessionary rates to individuals or families on a low income – we don’t let fees become an obstacle to helping as many people as we can.

It costs us around £65 to arrange each appointment for you (this varies from service to service).

Generally payment is due at the time of the ongoing appointments and cancellation fees may apply. Set up fees are non-refundable.

Mediation Services

Mediation

£25 registration fee (non refundable)
£52.60 per person per session thereafter

Intergenerational Mediation

Where one person is under 18 the fee is a £25 registration fee then contributions are requested thereafter. When people are over 18 the fee is a £25 registration fee and then £25 per person per session thereafter.

Clients may be entitled to Legal Aid to pay the fees. Application for this has to be made through a solicitor. If there is no entitlement to Legal Aid and the costs are too prohibitive then we can discuss reduced fees.

Child Contact Services

Supervised Contact

£150 referral fee (non refundable)
£90 per hour (blocks of six contacts for a maximum of two hours per session)
£150 supervised contact report based on a block of six contacts

Supported Contact

£150 referral fee (non refundable)
£80 per hour (blocks of twelve contacts for a maximum of three hours per session)
£50 attendance report based on a block of twelve contacts

Handover Contact

£100 referral fee (non refundable)
Contributions are requested for subsequent contacts and handover contact can be facilitated for a maximum of six months
£50 attendance report based on a block of twelve contacts

Re-Referrals

There will be no fee for re-referrals for child contact made within two years.
